Grizzly Bear :: Ready, Able

Oh my god I'm sooooo excited. I was just listening to Tyler the Creator's Summer Camp mix and his favorite Grizzly Bear song is my favorite Grizzly Bear song. I know that I'm acting like a 13 year old girl who just found out that her crush likes the same toppings on his pizza and starts gushing, but I just can't help.

Stern Grove Festival 2011

It's officially summer and that means its time to spend all our days in parks. This Sunday July 3rd the festival is having an indie concert for an Independence Weekend! Neko Case headlines and local sensation The Dodos will be opening for her. I saw Neko Case two years ago at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and she killed. There was so much heart in her voice, it was just vibrant and alive. You really can't miss her this Sunday at 2PM, especially for free. I thought in order to kick off the weekend I'd share some of my favorite tracks from both artists. Dig it.

Neko Case :: Deep Red Bells

Neko Case :: This Tornado Loves You (Live on Letterman)

More Neko...

The Dodos :: Red And Purple

The Dodos :: Ashley (Live)

M83 Teaser

M83 has announced a new album. No date has been set for it's release yet, but I'm sure it will come in time. I am excited about this video not only because I thoroughly enjoy their 2008 release Saturdays=Youth, but also the video shows shots of San Francisco's own Palace of Fine Arts, The California Academy of Science's living roof and a shot rising in between buildings and then peaking with a San Francisco skyline blanketed in fog. Also, there's a jellyfish presumably from The Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Pretty cool I think.

Afterthought - Did anybody else notice the dozens of keyboards in Anthony Gonzalez's studio? Or how about the floppies?!?!

BadBadNotGood :: Odd Future Session One & Two

Holy shit! This is by far two of the the most energizing video's I have seen in a long time. I love this! Not only do they start with Odd Future beats, which as everyone knows I also love, but it's how they use OF's instrumentals as a foundation to improv and explore their own sounds. It's Hip hop meets jazz, and I think it sounds beautiful. You can download the second session here, just right click and save link as.

Track list:

Session one

Bastard
Orange Juice
Assmilk

Session two

Untitled 63
Nightmare
Sandwitches
Yonkers
