With every New Year comes new music. However, what excites me most about the New Year is the look back on the past year's best music. I always check out a few lists, including magazines like Spin, Rolling Stone, Paste and XLR8R and a few other. I also check some blogs like GorillavsBear, Stereogum, and Pitchfork, but my favorite is always the list compiled by Hype Machine. Each Year Hypem.com releases a list of music bloggers top 50 artists, songs, and albums. The albums section is what makes this list stand out because you can stream each album and determine whether or not you like it. So here it is, grab the link here. A few albums that I've enjoyed off the list so far are Two Door Cinema Club (kinda like a Foals meets Tokyo Police Club sound, very dance-y pop) and Gorillaz's Plastic Beach, Radio Dept, and Janelle Monae. Nice post, I liked the Gorillaz album and two door cinema club a lot too.. I'd have to say my favorite album of the past year was Tame Impala's "Innerspeaker" every song on the album is amazing.
